With the exception perhaps of his theories on defense mechanisms, most of Freud's approaches have been rejected. Today, very few people would feel confident that lying on a couch and talking about their mother would lead to problem resolution. Why is this? What happened to Freud's model? How does this issue relate to this module's discussion of best practice? Be specific. Give examples.
