Question

In 1998, the American public learned of President Bill Clinton's sexual improprieties with a young White House intern by the name of Monica Lewinsky. Toward the end of the year, the Republican-controlled House of Representatives voted to impeach the president on grounds of perjury and obstruction of justice, and while in the end the Senate refused to remove him from office early the following year, by then the intimacies of Clinton's private life had been exposed to public scrutiny to an extent unrivaled in American presidential history.

What do you think? Does the public have a right to know what goes on in the private lives of its leaders? Or should we adhere to the argument made by Clinton's supporters during this ordeal--namely, that a president's personal life is his own business, and we the public should stay out of it?
