Problem

One contraceptive method which is considered to be permanent is either tube tying for women or a vasectomy for males. Tube tying is literally tying the fallopian tubes so the fertilization process cannot occur. This is an immediate result for contraception and has a failure rate of about 0.5%. A vasectomy is an operation that restricts the sperm from leaving the testes and being ejaculated into the vagina. This method requires a recovery period of about 1 week. Additionally, it requires up to 12 weeks before the males sperm count will drop to zero. Failure rate is 0.15%. From a Christian worldview perspective, intercourse is something to be shared by a husband and wife after marriage. I think the world has lost a lot of sight around this view and standard. However, contraception has its place and can be beneficial to many individuals. It can help prevent STDs, can assist with family planning and ensuring pregnancy occurs when someone is ready for a baby. I think there are many individuals who are not Christian and the human intervention and what God intended does not play a big part.
