Question: You are the Team Lead of Talent Acquisition in a large Information & Technology company based in Sydney. As part of your role, you are leading the recruitment and selection process to hire a Software Engineer for the company. You have received 40 applications for the role, and Georgia, a member of your team, decided to search all the candidates' names on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, using the information she had at hand. For example, names, previous occupations, and other information in the candidates' profiles. Based on her findings, she placed some candidates in her 'Rejection Folder' officially labelled as 'Not a Good Fit'. In the next meeting with Georgia, she tells you about her process to reject candidates and put them in her 'Not a Good Fit' folder. She says this is an easy way to find interesting information about candidates, and a good idea to ensure they keep the right people in the process and also to select the best candidate for the role.
