Components:
I. Interview an HR Director/Manager in a post-acute organization.
If the "HR Director/Manager" role is included within another role, you are to clearly identify the role title of the individual managing and coordinating human resources (HR) within the facility/organization and identify the percentage of day or week that the individual manages HR.
You can conduct the interview via a virtual or telephonic means.
Your interview should be 15-30 minutes in length.
You are to include the name of the company/facility/organization, the name of the person interviewed, and their role in your submission assignment.
You are to document the individual's responses.
Your interview will include the following questions:
Question 1. What is your job title?
Question 2. What percentage of your day or week is spent managing human resources (HR)?
Question 3. What do human resource tasks or functions do you perform? Please be specific.
Question 4. How does HR management fit into the strategy of the facility? Of the organization or company?
Question 5. What does your facility/organization/you personally do well in managing human resources (HR)? Explain your response.
Question 6. What are areas of needed improvement relative to human resource management in your facility or organization? Why? How? Explain your responses.
II. Based upon the responses that you received from the HR Manager/Director whom you selected and considering what you have read and learned in this course, address the following questions as a SHRM consultant:
Question 1. What gaps did you observe during your interview?
Question 2. What HR strategic and operational strategies and techniques will you recommend and why?
Responses to Items in # 1 and 2 are to be placed in the "Interview with Human Resource Manager and Consultative Recommendations" section as per below.
