As you conduct your investigation, consider what funding needs the organization might have to pursue its mission. Does the organization need additional funding to maintain its services at current levels? Would the community benefit if the organization's services were expanded to serve more people? Would the community benefit if a new service approach were introduced?

To complete this homework, conduct a literature and internet search to learn more about the organization through its website, written literature, and news sources. For example, if you are interested in homelessness, locate an organization in your community that provides emergency shelter or supported housing for homeless populations. If interested in seniors, find an organization that provides outreach services and other resources to isolated seniors in their home. If interested in mental health, find an organization that provides mental health treatment.

Be sure to discuss the following:

1. The organization's vision, goal, and mission.

2. The population served.

3. The community need addressed by the organization.
