1) A 1200 kg car pulls a 480 kg trailer. The car exerts a horizontal force of 3540 N against the ground in order to accelerate. What force does the car exert on the trailer? Assume an effective friction coefficient of 0.190 for the trailer.

2) A small ball of mass 117 g is suspended from a fixed point with an ideal string of length 0.75 m. The ball is given a horizontal push so that it revolves in a circular path. The angle which the string makes relative to vertical is %u03B8 = 22 degrees. Calculate the tangential speed with which the ball is traveling to maintain this horizontal path.
