Case Study Making Decisions with Data Analytics: Mika Enterprises Craig Calloway owns a mobile phone company called Mika Enterprises and manufactures his phones locally in Keller, Texas. Currently, the parts are sourced from a domestic supplier and are assembled at his friend's electronic equipment assembly plant. A recent news article on his business published by a known national newspaper created a huge stir in the customer base and the demand suddenly increased beyond the scope of the company's current production capacities. To take the advantage of economies of scale, Craig is now considering sourcing the parts from a few low-cost suppliers in Asia. He has also reached out to a few manufacturers who are willing to assemble the phone for his company. Riding high on his confidence, Craig is also thinking of selling the phones in the Asian market where they will be assembled.
