Implementing a successful project

In order to manage and control a project effectively, the project manager must recognize the organisational aspirations, project environments and management practices that, when implemented, will increase the likelihood of success of a project.

Projects are unique and they are implemented in a defined period of time, therefore it is important that project managers are able to devise and implement appropriate strategies and approaches to the successful management of the project by answering three separate questions:

‘‘what factors lead to project management success?'' "What factors lead to a successful project?'' and ‘‘what factors are key to the specifics of the project?

Task

You are to write an essay that critically discusses factors which are critical to the successful management of the project scenario you have chosen. You will prioritize the factors in order of importance, explaining how each one contributes to the success or failure.
Note**: Choose the project scenario related to Smart Grid

Intended learning outcomes for the assessment
• Demonstrate a critical awareness and understanding of the context, factors and issues and process of project management.
• Understand the role of the project manager, devise and implement appropriate strategies and approaches to the management of projects
• Analyse and solve complex problems relating to the management of projects
• Gather and critically analyse information, synthesize, evaluate and present alternative solutions
