Question: Stealing time is never okay. Whether it is online or in person it is never okay to steal time. When you are physically working at your job, it is so easy to get caught sealing time. Working from home could be a different story. What exactly would be considered "stealing time" if you are working from the comfort of your home? Maybe some companies have employees who clock-in, but they never answer a call or they are inactive while on the clock. That might be considered stealing time especially if the employee is taking long and frequent breaks. If that is the case, their employer and/or supervisor should be notified. Everybody has issues and obligations (aside from work) that might interrupt the work day. Some employees might be "stay at home" parents. They might have medical issues with a strict schedule, or they are caregivers for a loved one. But like I stated earlier, the employee should always notify their employer of any obligations to avoid any concerns about stealing time.
