Nurse M works as a home health nurse in a rural community. Nurse M visits 10 clients each day. On today's schedule are three clients who are recovering from knee replacement surgery, two clients who were recently discharged from the hospital following urinary tract infections, and five clients requiring antibiotic infusion for infected wounds. Nurse M performed his first three visits to the clients who were recovering from the knee replacement surgeries without incident. Nurse M completed the visits for the two clients who were discharged from the hospital with UTIs and noted that one of the clients appeared mildly confused but did not think anything serious was happening.
