Case Study: The Movie Response Paper for this course is an opportunity to delve into the ethical issues presented in a film. From the Suggested Movie List (found in the course syllabus), choose a film to watch and write a response paper (minimum 2000 words in length). Do not simply recap the facts or plot line of the movie in your paper. You are to not only identify ethical situations in the film but to use concepts from the semester to explore the development, meaning and implications of these events. To help guide the writing of your paper, you may want to consider the following prompts:
Questions:
. What ethical issues does the film present?
. What scenes were of major ethical importance and why?
. When were there significant instances of moral luck?
. Were there any instances of moral muteness, moral blindness, or willful blindness
. Identify the moral levels of development for various characters in the film
. Do any characters change their ethical views over the course of the movie? How do they change and in what way do they stay the same? What is the catalyst for change and what stifles change or interferes with taking ethical action?
. What unethical rationalizations did various characters use to excuse unethical behavior?
. Which virtues were highlighted in the film?
. From the Key Words, Concepts, and Themes sheet, which seem salient in the film?
. What was your emotional reaction to this film?
. How has this film affected how you think about ethical issues in business?
