Problem: A 70 year old female presents with complaints of right hip pain. She explains that over the past 6 months she has had a pain deep in her right hip that gets worse after playing golf or walking on her treadmill. She has a history of heart disease and is concerned that the pain may cause her to stop being active. On examination, she stands with most of her weight over her left leg. She is not comfortable standing one-legged on her right leg. ROM testing reveals decreased hip flexion, abduction & medial rotation and all of these movements produce mild pain when overpressure is applied. Strength testing reveals generalized weakness of all hip muscles, most markedly the hip abductors. What end-feel on hip flexion, abduction & medial rotation is MOST likely?
