Imagine you are a counselor at a fertility clinic, and your job is to help couples prepare for pregnancy. Pregnancy can be a happy time for some but also a scary time for others. A couple arrives seeking your guidance. This couple hopes to get pregnant within the next month. One of them wants to know if they can influence the likelihood of having a girl, and the other wants to know what emotional and physical reactions to expect to pregnancy.

To assist this couple, list factors that increase the likelihood of conception and comment on whether the sex of the baby can be influenced. Then, help your couple understand the different emotional and physical reactions to pregnancy from both a female and male perspective. Compare and contrast differences and similarities between these sexes.
