Assignment:
I've decided that your alternate assignment will be on Civic Engagement, which is the other topic I sometimes give as the semester project. Community Boards are the connection between communities and local government and can greatly impact community change. Recent activity in Community Board 11 East Harlem: Land Use, Rezoning, Neighborhood Improvements and Housing are all hotly debated topics. Here is the CBII Meeting Calendar -
You'll also find information on the site to help you understand more about the community and the boards' current and former issues.
The Project:
You will view at least 3 community board meetings on line between now and April 18th

f. What was your impression of what you saw? How did it support your understanding of the 7 C' s of Social Change: Consciousness of Self, Congruence, Commitment, Collaboration, Controversy with Civility, Common Purpose & Community Change.
You'll summarize this information for each board meeting and create a presentation.
