Zephaniah "Zephi" Trevino is a North Texas teen charged in a 2019 murder case. Trevino was 16 at the time of the murder and turns 18 this month. A Dallas County grand jury handed up indictments of Zephaniah Renee "Zephi" Trevino on charges of murder and aggravated robbery. Trevino is accused of taking part in the fatal robbery of Carlos Murillo on Aug 3, 2019, along with Philip Junior Aguilera Baldenegro and Jesse Martinez both 20. State District Judge Cheryl Lee Shannon ruled in February that Trevino should be tried in adult court. Her attorneys appealed that decision arguing in part that the juvenile court had failed to consider all the evidence because of the inadequacy of a report prepared by a Dallas County juvenile probation officer.
