Quetsion: In Joseph O. Legasapi's gorgeous poem, "Whom You Love," he begins with a Creole proverb that suggests that we are the person that we love. In his poem, he describes in luscious detail the being that is his life partner. Much of this description is figurative, for example, in the opening line he refers to his partner as "The man whose throat blossoms with spicy chocolates."
