Task Description
You are an initial teacher education student who has observed ‘something' (i.e. an event/incident in the field of education) which you wish to know more about.
This event/incident can be at any level-the classroom, the school, the department, state, national, international, and it can be related to a discipline or curriculum area or to any of the broad areas of research in education listed in the weekly topic notes.
This is Part one of a research-informed professional learning journey plan.
Expected content
Your professional learning journey plan will be in the form of a research proposal and contain:
- A research problem/topic from classroom practice context and why it is of interest to you.
- The research question (including up to two sub-questions, if needed)
- The significance of this chosen research to education and your professional learning journey
- Literature review-what does the literature say about the identified problem and what knowledge gaps does your research seek to fill? The literature review of the topic will need to show your ongoing professional learning critical reflective processes
- Research methodology- include theory framework, ethics considerations and reporting plan (Strategies for ongoing future learning, including a surprising idea or unanswered question (related to maintaining internal coherence) that you would like to pursue for Assignment 2.
- How you intend to conduct your analysis, interpretation, findings and key recommendations arising from your research project.
- Annotated bibliography of contemporary educational literature (20 resources as a minimum)
