Method

  1. Set seat height on the cycle ergometer.
  2. Calculate prescribed load for subject - .075 kp per kg of body mass (sedentary) or 0.10 kp per kg of body mass for athletes
  3. Have the subject warm up 3-5 min of light loading, then 3-5 min of medium loading - then 1-2 short bursts. Rest for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Have the subject ramp up speed to highest pedal rate - drop the load onto the flywheel
  5. Record initial power output, and every 5 seconds for 30 seconds.
