Case: You will choose a company that commercially operates UAS, and write up a company profile. The company could be as small as a one-person operation that operates under part 107 or a large company that has a part 135 certificate. It could even be a company that uses UAS for operations that are incidental to the business. An example of "incidental" is a company that uses UAS for inspection but does not directly generate revenue from the usage of the UAS. If you're having a hard time finding companies to profile, I suggest using AUVSI as a resource. Browsing the industry news section should yield a number of companies.

What you should include (this is not an exhaustive list, simply some jumping off points):
• What is the company's name? A logo would be nice!
• Who runs the company?
• How do they utilize UAS? This should be the bulk of the profile.
o Is the company using UAS to generate revenue or is it incidental?
o If the company generates revenue, how much?
o If the operation is incidental, does it save the company in other areas? Think labor, safety, etc.
• How many employees does the company have working in the UAS department?
• How long has the company utilized UAS in the operation?
• What type of platform does the company utilize?
• Does the company have a working FOM or follow any standardized procedures that ensure safety?
• What are the qualifications/requirements to work for the UAS department?
• What does the corporate structure look like? Is the UAS department part of a bigger flight department or is it a solo department?
• How does the company expect the use of UAS to impact the future of the company?
