(This document is designed to ensure that you develop a shared understanding with the client and your supervisor of the focus and nature of your project, together with any constraints which can be identified at this stage).

Company Context (Give a brief background for the need for this project - you can steal some words from your brief if appropriate but expand with any new information you now know)

Aims and Objectives

• What does the company want from your consultancy team?
• What are you broadly planning to do to achieve these aims?
Work Programme (This is the key area To outline exactly what you plan to do and within what timescales. Write this section to give your client a clear insight into how the work will be shared across the team and where you are doing more than one type of research how the difference approaches will be sequenced and linked. It should also make clear the responsibilities of individual group members as you see them alt.

Some of the things you may need to include are
• How the research/data will be gathered and analysed
o What sources have you already identified and how will further sources be founra
o How will further data be collected and why is this appropriate?
o What analysis will be required and how will this be done?
• What is your communication plan (how will information be shared across the project team with the supervisor and with the client)?
• Detailed time plan /Gantt chart from anticipated start of project, including anticipated key stage reviews with the client/supervisor and planned team meetings. (Remember when the draft report needs to be completed and plan accordingly)
• Anticipated resources needed (e g. access to people. staff and (potential) customers, published research, company information)
Out of Scope (What falls outside your scope? Are there any areas that the client does not want you to explore?
