2. Use the link to access the Flipboard website. Create an account if you do not already have one established.
3. When you register your account, you will be required to select topics that interest you. This is a news feed that is focused specifically on what you want to read (Really cool! Select one of the commercials from the attached video and analyze it using Frith's Levels of Analysis
Frith's Levels of Analysis:
• The Surface Meaning: What is your overall impression at first glance after looking at the advertisement. At this level, you will describe/list all objects, people, and environment within the ad.
• Advertiser's Intended Meaning: Identify the sales message (strategy behind the ad). Does the intended meaning and the meaning you get from the ad the same? Do they differ? Explain.
• Cultural or Ideological Meaning: Individuals often draw upon their cultural experiences and background when making sense of decoding an ad. What does the ad say about your belief system?
Task:
1. Watch the video provided above. that includes 10 different commercials
2. For the purpose of this assignment, select 1 of the 10 commercials (probably your favorite :0)
3. After reviewing the commercial, create a Word document and provide your responses to the items listed below (Frith's Level of Analysis)
