Integration of Faith and Learning - GCU Mission Statement
GCU's identity and mission are deeply rooted in a singular foundation of faith which provides a shared basis for the entire university. I think that is important that as students we often revisit the Mission Statement and examine how that applies in our lives and education.
GCU revised our Mission Statement in 2022 to the following:
Question 1. GCU is a missional, Christ-centered university with an innovative and adaptive spirit that addresses the world's deep needs by cultivating compassionate Christian community, empowering free and virtuous action, and serving others in ways that promote human flourishing.
Question 2. Through academic excellence, the university equips students with knowledge of the Christian worldview, instilling in them a sense of purpose and vocational calling that enable them to be innovative thinkers, effective communicators, global contributors, and transformative leaders who change their communities by placing the interests of others before their own.
Question 3. As you examine this statement, I want to focus specifically on the human flourishing piece. What does that look like in your own life? How are you flourishing? How are you helping others to flourish?
