What does he mean by this and do you agree?

Honestly anyone can interpret that from their own point of view and understanding. It's how we can look at the bigger picture and try to understand his message. Someone may think he is saying we are not willing to share the land and make treaties with the settlers, "we will not part with them to none". I think what he means is that he not willing to have another civil war over land. We have history, knowledge and family that grew up in this territory, we will not be fighting for it to see who "owns" it. Nor do we want to be enslaved to you. That is why the treaties were made, we made a treaty to share the land. We did not want a war to fight over it. That is why peace treaties and the fur trade happened. We do not want to be enslaved, although attempted genocide occurred. Do I agree? Yes, I agree with his statement. We have a right not to be enslaved. We also have a right to our own cultural land, however we did agree to share it to begin with. That is why these lakes, woods and mountains are apart of our culture and history for hundreds of years.
