1. What does dysfunctional mean? Dysfunctional is when something doesn't work properly. In the corporate world dysfunctional is bullying, stress and not good work environment is the normal at the job. For example, there was a company that i am not going to name that over worked their employees so much that everyday that they came in they were under a lot of stress because everything has to be done at that moment no matter what. Not everyone has worked in place like that. These type of company are around the world and these employees are usually scared to report their employers. Being in a dysfunctional work can make employees health decreased and also makes the employee scared to even do anything that can cause them their job at any point.

This can be great but they can be dysfunction which can occur with everything working. In a facility quality can be there but dysfunction can occur due to CEO not doing the right things with their funds. For example in manhattan there was a hospital called St. Vincent and it had excellent quality but the CEO wasn't using the funds received by insurances to do the necessary things he was supposed to. I don't only blame him i blame the board members who were supposed to keep tabs on what the money was doing and how effective he provided resources and helped further procedures. This did not occur which caused many people to have no job and further closing of the hospital. There are many procedures that allow hospitals to correct dysfunction. One is to be honest with employees, also having meetings in order for them to improve their work. being able to keep the mission for the company and everyone being on the same page about the company to meet a certain goal is important. being able to know you have learned even after you have made a mistake and improving this is vital in pushing toward the goal and being able to sustain it.
