Problem: The most important philosophical assumptions to Carl Rogers were that people Could determine their goals in life and what they wanted to achieve in their lives, but it is up to them to put those plans into action to achieve what they want. He believed that those who were able to complete their goals and achievements reached the theory of self-actualization. Self-actualization is the fulfillment of one's talents and goals and the realization of one's full potential in life. Carl Rogers was a firm believer in the humanistic perspective of psychology, as well as self/person-centered therapy, where the client is the focus of any therapy session, and it is important that the person overcome their difficulties and obstacles by seeking assistance and looking at the best version of themselves. . Times of change and crisis lead us to reconsider our values because what we are doing at that time is obviously not working to better ourselves and look at the final outcome of any situations we have been through. The existential perspective of psychology makes us believe that life is absurd until we put meaning to it. Once we experience crisis and times of change, it can cause a little bit of anxiety, but leads to the idea of freedom and free choice that comes with life. We can reconsider our values and do what is best for us to live our best life and accomplish our goals and achievements.
