Case Study: Two good friends, Christy and Joan, got into an argument over coffee before church.

CHRISTY: There are certain jobs that Christians should never take.

JOAN: Ah, come on. You're being too rigid. All jobs have some value.

CHRISTY: What about prostitution and drug dealing?

JOAN: That's unfair. I mean all legal jobs. I challenge you to come up with a list of jobs that you think Christians should never take.

CHRISTY: Okay, I will.

The next week Christy brought her list. Under the heading "Unchristian Jobs," she wrote the following:

State executioner (operator of the electric chair)
CIA spy
Bartender
Cigarette manufacturer
Adult video store owner
Psychic hotline receptionist
Gun shop owner
Potato chip manufacturer (junk food)
Mercedes-Benz dealer (luxury goods)
Nerve gas manufacturer
Liquor retailer
Nuclear plant operator
Joan was stunned: How in the world did you come up with these? I particularly don't understand how you could include the Mercedes dealer and the potato chip company.
