Case study - A long journey

It was a long way from Brighton to Swansea and Mr and Mrs Thomas and their three children, George, Tom and Sarah, were tired after their journey. As they pulled into the drive of the Sunnyland Hotel in Mumbles they were disappointed to find that the hotel carpark was full, and they would have to park their car on the street away from the hotel. After carrying their heavy bags to the hotel, they entered the hotel but found that there was no-one at reception. They rang the bell on the reception desk several times and eventually, after several minutes had passed, a lady came to the desk.

Mr and Mrs Thomas showed the receptionist their booking, but the lady could not find their reservation. Finally, the receptionist found their reservation, which was for a family bedroom, but she informed Mr and Mrs Thomas that unfortunately there were no family bedrooms available. The youngest children, Tom and Sarah, began to cry as they were tired and hungry.
