Part II - Essay:

Consider the following question. Create an introduction, thesis, and supporting details for this essay. A compressive essay MUST include at least four body paragraphs that have a clearly defined thesis and well supported arguments - complete with defined examples. You should have a fifth paragraph that is a closing paragraph in which you make sure to state the legacy of the war and Reconstruction. All elements must be present in order to receive full credit for this essay.

Along these lines, we have the issue of slavery. Over time, the push for abolition becomes stronger for those in the north, while southerners continue to argue in favor of this "peculiar institution."
