Question: Cornelius works for Pro Fan Gear, a company that makes merchandise that is sold in professional sports arenas and stadiums during events as well as online. Pro Fan Gear includes a "Made in the USA" label on all its products and frequently advertises this feature as well. While it is true that the merchandise is designed in the United States, most of the jerseys, hats, and other products are manufactured in foreign factories. Pro Fan Gear owns those factories, staffs them with American managers, and pays a fair living wage to all its employees. Moreover, once the merchandise is made, it is shipped to a U.S. facility for customization work, such as embroidering athletes' names, and for sorting and packing into specific orders. Cornelius is concerned that Pro Fan Gear is engaged in false advertising. His boss points out that the factories are owned by Americans and that Pro Fan Gear could not make a profit without using the cheaper labor in its foreign factories. What do you think Cornelius should do?
