Case Study: After Muhammad achieved success in unifying Medina, he developed an army that set out on a campaign (a holy war or jihad, in their eyes) to conquer surrounding nations and convert them to the sole worship of Allah. The people of each nation or territory that was conquered was forced to convert to this belief and to the culture of the faith of Islam.
