Case Study: I think social narratives can be helpful in any situation in which the learner does not percieve the situation as most others do. For example, if a child thinks that he needs to be forst in line no matter the consequneces, even if it means pushing others out of hsi way, then a social story can describe teh proepr behavior in the first person. By itself, a social narrative will not cause the learner to stop pushing in line, but a social story can foster the perception that eveyone in line will get to the same place.

It is also helpful for the learner to be an author of the social story. This way, the learner will not feel that he is being directed to behave properly. After, when he is prompted to take his place in line quietly, he can be reminded of the social story that he helped create.
