Your company is specialized in algorithms to prevent and reduce the mortality of newborns, especially in developing countries. Your team have discovered a new algorithm that could eliminate or reduce the infant mortality in 80% of the cases, through a sticker pasted to mother during the pregnancy period. This device collects health data that allows to adapt medicaments and prepare the labour without risk for the mother and the baby.
As a manager, you decide to patent this algorithm in order to avoid copying and to earn licensing revenue. The patent will take time, but you will be able to increase your profits, which is good for your company and for your career.
