Assignment: Part 1: Theartist Monet said that he wished he had been born blind and then gained sight as an adult. He believed this would allow him to accurately portray light, shapes, and color in the immediate moment without contamination from previous experiences (ref pg 8). Other artists have aspired to a similar goal of painting "unmediated" perception. What does this mean? Why do you think they aspired to this? Is it possible? If so, how?
