Problem: One of the primary differences between Adlerian and person-centered counselling orientations is the directiveness of the counsellor (Maniacci & Sackett-Maniacci, 2019; Safran et al., 2019). As we have found, person-centered is a non-directive approach, which is a primary reason that Adler's encouragement would not be used in traditional person-centered counselling.
