Passage 1:

1. What does the next few years look like in terms of managing oak species in the Wayne National Forest or the management of timber in general?
2. What do you hope comes out of your management of timber or what is your goal behind managing timber in the Wayne National Forest? (Wildlife, future harvest, etc.)
3. What species of trees are at the highest concern in managing and why or why not is oaks the highest priority of species of tree to manage?
4. If management wasn't done in Ohio before or after logging how would that impact the woods?
5. What if no management was done in the Wayne National Forest, how do you think the woods in that area would look?
6. What is the biggest concern that threatens oak species today and how are you guys trying to combat these concerns if possible?
7. Are you managing all oak species the same or are you more concerned about managing white oak species over red oak due to higher timber/ wildlife value?
8. What does the process look like when implementing a management plan or going about doing management in the Wayne National Forest? (Difficulty due to politics)
9. How hard is it to get funding to implement management practices and get backing for management specifically for managing trees?
