Problem

Brianna, age 32, is a spinal cord injured patient after a diving accident at age 18. She self-caths. She is in your clinic due to cough and UA with C & S was ordered from her catheterized urine. Her UA dipstick is negative for leukocytes, nitrite, and blood. She leaves your office, and is treated symptomatically for her cough. However, 2 days later, you see her urine culture report, which shows 100,000 cfu/ml of E.coli. What do you do?
