Case Study: Cell signaling is an essential characteristic of cells, both in multicellular organisms and in prokaryotic colonies. It is how cells receive information from their environment, and respond to it, both fundamental characteristics of life. You will watch a video animation of a cell that receives and responds to information from outside itself, as part of the immune cascade following an injury (the video really gets going around 2:30).
