Question: Find and visit 5 public art installations in Regina. This could be a sculpture, mural, painting, etc. Graffiti art is acceptable, however tagging or vandalism is not. If you are unsure if something you have visited is acceptable please send a photo for approval no later than one week before the due date.

Include a photo for each installation (5 total).

Short Answer

For each installations you visited write a short reflection answering the following three questions. Be critical - how and why are important. Refer to the artwork itself to support your answers.

Does it have a title? If so, why do you think it has this title? If not, what would you call it and why? How does it make you feel and what does it make you think about? How does the installation affect the space it is in? (Tip: imagine the space without the installation. What does it add to the space when it's there? It could be a feeling, an idea, or something else)

Long Answer
Once you have visited each site, write a short reflection on the whole experience (2-4 pages double spaced) answering:

What do these public art pieces tell you about the culture of Regina? This is a short essay, follow standard essay format.

Be sure to include an introduction and conclusion. Arguments should be logical and supported with evidence from the artwork themselves, your critical subjective experience, or from references to other sources. If other sources are used be sure to include a works cited page and follow MLA guidelines.
