Case Study:
1. Merianna is a 21-year-old woman who is considered to be very odd and peculiar to her classmates.
One of her classmates states, "Merianna is often overheard talking to herself."
She has increasingly become more and more paranoid. In fact, she has begun telling her roommate that the CIA was after her for accidentally coming across classified information.
2. Jaylen is a 24-year-old male who has been feeling blue. In the past 6 months, he has lost interest in hanging out with friends and basic upkeep around the house.
Jaylen reports that he is struggling with motivation and concentration as well at work. It is a struggle for him to wake up each day.
3. Alex is a 35-year-old male who is terrified of snakes. He has never had a bad experience, but he remains frightened. It has gotten to the point where he can't even look at a picture of a snake without feeling anxious.
4. Tyra is a 25-year-old female who has been struggling with obsessive thoughts such as "There are germs on my hands," and "Someone is going to break into our house and kill us."
Paired with those are compulsions such as washing hands repeatedly and checking locks 5 times.
5. John is a 40-year-old male who has recently been spending a flurry of money on "get-rich-quick" schemes.
After realizing that he cannot make his rent, John becomes rather depressed. He spends a week in bed, unable to find motivation.
