Articles Review (Website)
I have selected 3 websites that advertise a service or products for a people with a visual disability. The sites geared toward people with visual disabilities (e.g. blindness, cataract, etc.) and provide information about assistive technology that can help a client maintain their independence or help them to access their environment. Can someone give a critique on each website to determine if it meets the criteria that is outlined in the requirements below? Summarize and critique all three websites separately in a essay format and state if you would recommend the website or not.
A. American Foundation for the Blind. (https://www.afb.org/): A reliable source for information on assistive technology and resources for individuals with visual impairments.
B. National Federation of the Blind. (https://nfb.org/resources/deafblind-resources): Organization of Americans who are blind and visually impaired. Provides advocacy, education, research, technology, and programs encouraging independence and self-confidence.
C. Assistive Technology Industry Association (ATIA). (https://www.atia.org/): A platform that showcases various assistive technologies, including those for visual disabilities.

A. Give a one-page review of the websites content.

1. General content of the web site
2. Quality of resources and links
3. The value of each site to you, as a student, and from the perspective of a consumer or user of the web site.
General Content of the Website
A. What is the website advertising or presenting?
B. What disability group or target group is the website targeting?
C. Is the information that is being advertised or presented free or is the user required to purchase the information or product?
Does the website display information such as:
A. Text
B. Tables
C. Animation (i.e. flashing or moving videos, sounds, and/or graphical buttons)
D. Frames (i.e., still pictures)
E. Combination of some or all the displays mentioned above.
I. Does the web page offer good color contrast?
II. What is the color used for the background and foreground (i.e., color(s) used for the information being displayed)?
III. Is this color for the background/fore ground) appropriate for persons with visual impairments (e.g., low vision)?
IV. Is the page layout (e.g., positioning or placement of words/text, pictures, etc.) easy to follow/read?
V. Are the links relevant to the main web page?
VI. Are the links easy to locate? (i.e., font size the same or different from the main web page font size)
VII. What is the value (i.e., excellent, good, fair, or poor) of each site to you as a student, rehabilitation professional, and from the perspective of a consumer or user of the website?
