Case Study: My primary social style is analytical, and my secondary is amiable. I tend to prefer to sit back and assess the situation in most of my social situations. This applies to my work and personal life. I just prefer to get a feel for the situation before I make any movements or judgments. An example would be how I am when I'm being trained. I like to absorb all the information first and then determine if I have any questions or confusion after the fact. This also applies to how I am when I meet new people.

When I meet new people, I like to sit back and pay attention to how they interact with others so I'll know the best way to approach them. I also find that it's useful in getting to know people because I'm a much better active listener since I generally take a back seat to the conversation, but once I'm familiar with them, I'll be more than happy to be more involved with the conversation.
