Reasons for Acting EthicallyThink of the last time you were faced with a decision about how to behave correctly - briefly describe the situation. Then, explain whether you made your choice based on a duty point of view (I'll do this because it's the right thing to do) or a consequentialist point of view (I'll do this because it'll bring the largest amount of good to the largest number of people). To what degree do you have these two perspectives in your mind in difficult ethical situations? Consider constructing a counter argument to your point of view. How can you support what is not your point of view?
Post-ethical Society? In 2016 we lived through an American election campaign in which the eventual winner regularly did not tell the truth. Clearly this did not matter, as he won the election. What barrier to acting ethically do politicians who do not tell the truth face, in your opinion? Put another way, what reasons do politicians who do not tell the truth give for lying? If these barriers/reasons are so accepted by the general population, how might this show that we are living in a post-ethical society? Given your opinion, what actions/decision/conversations can you make to address and/or deal with this society?

How do you and I get around being held accountable for our personal ethics around cheap clothing? Suggested view: Rana Plaza:
