Assignment:

This Question involves various Inchoate Crimes ONLY

Bart decides he needs new rims for his Cadillac Escalade and he devises a plan: He contacts Roxie, Steve and Billy and asks them to join him in his plan of stealing a car by doing the following: He asks Roxie to go to the local car dealership and ask to test drive the new Escalade. He tells her once she gets to drive the vehicle, she is to drive to the local Speedway gas station and park the vehicle there. She is to leave the keys in the vehicle and go inside. While inside, Billy will steal the vehicle and to drive to Steve's residence. He tells Roxie not to call the car in as stolen until 20 minutes has passed since she discovers the vehicle stolen.

Once the vehicle is in Steve's garage, Steve is to swap out the new rims for some old ones. Steve is to give the rims to Bart, and in exchange, Steve gets to keep the stolen vehicle to part out as he sees fit to take care of any evidence of the stolen vehicle. They all agree.

On the day in question, everything begins to go as planned, except Steve is unable to be home when the theft takes place. However, Steve tells Bart that he has a dim-witted cousin, Bruno who will be there to do the work for them. Steve says that Bruno doesn't know the car will be a stolen car but he will know how to take off the rims and to give them to Bart. Bart says he is okay with this change in the plan.

Roxie leaves the Cadillac at the Speedway, and Billy takes it to Steve's house where Bruno is waiting. Billy parks it in Steve's garage and Bruno begins his work. However, no one puts the garage door down. Police, who receive the 911 call from Roxie that the vehicle was stolen are canvassing the area and they spot the vehicle in the garage. Police arrest Billy and Bruno and impound the vehicle. After arrest, Billy confesses to police about the plan. Police then began to look for Bart.

Bart realizes he needs to hide out so he goes to his old girlfriend, Valerie, to hide until he gets another plan together. He does no tell her that he is being sought by the police, but that he was evicted from his apartment. She agrees to take him in. The next morning, while Bart is sleeping, police show up and ask her if she knows where Bart is. Valerie hates the police and says she has no idea and slams the door in their face.

Bart later learns the police were there and he decides he needs to get out of the state. He goes to his friend Xavier and explains what has happened the past few days. Xavier gives Bart his car to get out of the state. However, as he is driving out of town, Bart is arrested for his crimes.

What crimes have been committed by any or all of these offenders? (You do NOT have to discuss any crimes related to theft of the car, only the crimes we have discussed these past three weeks.) Explain your charges and give the elements along with the facts you applied to reach your decision. Does anyone have a defense? If so, state it and explain how it would apply.
