Amanda is 16 years of age and has recently been placed in a residential care home. She has been in Foster Care since she was 2 years of age, but recently after the sudden death of her Foster Parents, she has been placed into residential care. She is uncooperative, argumentative and the school reports she has been truanting. She has been engaging in binge drinking and was recently rushed to the Emergency Department due to excessive alcohol consumption. She swings from being angry and abusive to withdrawn and teary. She has recently been involved in conflict with several other residents and staff and she has made threats of violence, which is contrary to the Individual Behaviour Plan that was written up for her upon placement.
You have discovered she is now self harming with razor blades she found in the bathroom. You are concerned about her physical safety as she still has a razor blade in her hand and she is threatening to harm anyone who comes near her.
