While technology is improving, globalization is also affecting HR at the same time. HR managers must be proficient in cross-cultural communication and find ways to adapt to standardize practices whether it is in the United States or another country.
As an HR manager, I need to be prepared to manage and support a diverse workforce. Having a deep understanding of cultural differences will help me with adapting HR practices to meet their needs. With globalization happening, I have to learn how to be a strategic thinker to help my company with navigating the problems and challenges of a global business environment. I need to find ways to develop and implement HR policies and practices that are consistent, but still work with cross-cultural environment to support communication and find ways to resolve conflict. I have to be proactive instead of reactive and strategize ways to manage a global workforce while making sure HR practices are consistent with the company's operations.
