PROMPT: The concept of the "American Dream" suggests that every person living the United States has an equal opportunity to "success" through their initiative and hard work. Using the concepts and readings from the first half of the course, how do you believe that urban planning can contribute to a built environment which reflects the aspirations of the American Dream?

Some issues that can addressed in your paper:

• What amenities and facilities are important to include?

• What considerations need to be attended to as the suburbs grow? (should suburbs even be encouraged? are they inevitable?)

• How should urban renewal be approached?

• How does technology factor into your vision? How does industry?

• Finally, would you say that your conceptualization of urban planning has more in common with the Chicago or L.A. School of Thought? Explain your stance.
