A. is a 29 y.o. G6P6007 individual who gave birth vaginally to full-term twins today. Medical history: Asthma, no current medications, last asthma attack 3 years ago Surgical history: Tonsillectomy Family history: Unremarkable Past OB/GYN history: History of a postpartum hemorrhage with their second child Current pregnancy: uncomplicated except for twin pregnancy They were admitted in spontaneous labor at 38 4/7 weeks. Due to a prolonged active phase of labor (inadequate contraction strength), Pitocin was used to augment the contractions (increase the effectiveness). The first baby delivered spontaneously, and forceps were used to assist the birth of the second baby. Placenta delivered spontaneously and was intact. They had a second-degree midline laceration that was repaired. Initial estimated blood loss was 800 ml.
