Community Health Improvement Exercise
It is the year 2026. The pandemic has joined flu vaccine as an annual vaccination with boosters for high-risk populations after development of a booster protecting against the highly contagious Omicron variant in Fall 2022. Safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines and boosters are now distributed world-wide annually.
You got everything you wanted professionally in the last four years-the degree (s) you sought and your dream job in population health in a community you love!
As a health official managing population health at the community-level, you learn that you and your team have new funding to launch one new population health improvement intervention. Funding for this opportunity has a very quick turn-around, so the local health council, of which you are a member, has asked you to select a population health challenge in your community, propose an evidence-based intervention and report back on your findings and recommendations to them this week.
