Assignment: In order to provide you with a sense of what clients experience when faced with the challenge of abstaining from using their addictive substance(s) or behavior(s), students will engage in a period of complete abstinence from addictive/ritualized behaviors or mood-altering substances (except prescribed medication). "Relapse" is realistic and feelings around it should be incorporated. However, the goal would be to return to abstinence as soon/often as possible.

Please complete a summary paper following the end of this exercise. This assignment should include struggles, successes, thoughts, feelings, physical, etc. It is to include the implications of all of these reactions for social work with clients struggling with addiction.
